I’m not one to dwell on philosophical matters, but occasionally I get these moments of reflection. Today, July 4, 2010, is drawing me to think about where I am and how I am blessed. Now I realize that there are tons of other people expressing similar thoughts today, so mine probably won’t be that special. I am just feeling I need to put out there what I am thinking.

How more blessed could I be than to be born in America? The randomness of birth and the number of other countries and cultures into which I could have been born…well, they are mind-boggling that I was so fortunate to be born in America! It both amazes me and is a little frightening – frightening to think about where else I could have landed if not America or another freedom country.
